One day ACLS Renewal Class combined with BLS Renewal Class — (9 HOURS TOTAL)
Intended Audience – Healthcare Providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the assessment and management of pre cardiac arrest, cardiac arrest, post arrest care and stroke and are required to hold an ACLS course completion card for their position.
The Course reflects the current science in the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.
Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals’ understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED, and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.
ACLS is an advanced, Instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. Skills are taught in a large group session and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
Course content includes:
BLS HCP skills
Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest and peri-arrest such as symptomatic bradycardia
Airway management and related pharmacolog
Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and stroke management
ACLS treatment algorithms
Learning stations for practice scenarios that encourage acive participation
Hands-on class format to reinforce skill proficiency and team dynamics
3 THINGS STUDENT REQUIRED TO BRING TO CLASS:
–AHA BLS HCP Card-current
–AHA ACLS Card-current- must not be expired to take this course or you will be enrolled into a 2 day Full Provider
–AHA online Pre Course Self Assessment Certificate – 75% score requirement- bring this certificate to the class.
